Take Control Before the Session Starts

goatbox puts spending controls, session timers, and account pause options directly inside your account settings — no phone call needed, no waiting period for most adjustments.

What Our Account Controls Actually Do

Every goatbox account comes with a set of controls you can activate from the account settings tab. Spending caps let you set a maximum amount you're willing to load in a given day or week — once you hit that ceiling, the wallet stops accepting top-ups until the period resets. Session timers pop a reminder when you've been active for a set

amount of time, so you can decide whether to keep going or step away. The account pause feature lets you cool off for a defined window without closing your account permanently. Your activity history shows every session, deposit, and withdrawal so nothing is hidden from view.

WHEN YOU NEED HELP

Reach Us While Using These Controls

If a control isn't behaving as expected — or you want help setting one up — our support team is reachable through live chat inside the app. You can also email us directly from the account help page. We don't route these requests through a general queue; account-control questions get flagged for priority handling.

External Support Lines

For additional support outside of goatbox, the National Council on Problem Gambling helpline (1-800-522-4700) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

HOW WE RUN THIS

Why These Controls Are Built Into the Core Account

Account controls aren't an afterthought bolted onto the side of our platform. They're wired into the same wallet layer that handles your PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ transactions — so when a spending cap kicks in, it blocks at the payment level, not just the interface. That means the limit is enforced regardless of which device you're using or how you're trying to load funds.

Wallet-Level Enforcement Spending caps block at the payment processor layer — PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ deposits stop when your cap is reached, not just grayed out on screen.
No Dark Patterns We don't bury control options behind multiple menus or delay the cool-off activation. One tap in account settings and the control is live within seconds.
Activity Log Transparency Your full session and transaction history is available anytime under account activity — every session duration, every deposit, every withdrawal, fully itemized.
State-Law Alignment Access to our platform and these tools depends on state law. Where eligible, controls are consistent with the responsible-gaming standards that apply in that state.

Player guidance Terms, Plain and Simple

These are the terms you'll see inside your account settings and in responsible-gaming conversations — explained in plain language so you know exactly what each one does.

What is a spending cap?

A spending cap is a hard ceiling on how much you can load into your account within a set timeframe — daily or weekly. Once reached, no further deposits clear until the period resets.

What does a session timer do?

A session timer tracks how long you've been active in a single sitting and sends you an alert at your chosen limit. It reminds you to pause; it doesn't force you to stop.

What is a cool-off period?

A cool-off period is a temporary account pause you activate yourself. Your account is restricted for a set number of days or weeks, after which it returns to normal access automatically.

What is an activity log?

An activity log is a full itemized record of every session, deposit, and withdrawal on your account — timestamps included. It helps you review your actual play patterns objectively.

What does wallet-level enforcement mean?

Wallet-level enforcement means a limit is applied at the payment processing layer, not just the app interface. PayPal, Venmo, or Play+ transactions are declined if they exceed your set cap.

What is a reality check prompt?

A reality check is an on-screen message that appears at timed intervals during a session, showing how long you've been playing and how your balance has changed since you started.

How These Controls Work in Practice

Here are the questions we hear most often from people setting up their account controls for the first time — answered the way our own team would answer them.

Go to account settings, select the spending controls tab, choose daily or weekly, and enter your cap amount. The limit applies immediately to PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ deposits.

Lowering a cap takes effect immediately — there's no waiting period. Raising a cap may involve a short delay built in by design, so the increase doesn't undercut the control's purpose.

You'll see an on-screen prompt showing how long you've been active. You can dismiss it and keep going, or close the session. The timer resets automatically if you continue playing.

Activate it in account settings under the cool-off option. Once confirmed, the restriction is live and cannot be reversed early — that's intentional, so a short-term impulse doesn't override it.

Yes. The cap is enforced at the wallet level, which means it applies to every deposit method on the account — PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ prepaid all count toward the same ceiling.

Open account settings and select activity history. Every session, deposit, and withdrawal is listed with timestamps. You can filter by date range to review a specific period in detail.
